It’s been another record-breaking year for University Bursary applications. Firstly, we would like to say thank you for putting the time and effort into submitting your applications.
A record 101 new students were awarded university bursary grants for the start of the academic year 2024/5. Postal Family Fund is delighted to now be supporting a total of 218 students with their university qualification or equivalent.
We were also delighted to hear from some of our students whose studies have been supported in the past by the Postal Family Fund.
“There is no way I would have been able to complete university without the bursary. I would have had to commute over almost 3 hours every day as I would not have been able to afford my rent. I am so eternally grateful for this charity and one day I hope I can give something back as I would not have been able to complete my degree without this! I got my results on Friday and I got a first-class degree in criminology and sociology and I owe you guys so much. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart 🙂 “
“The bursary was essential for me to be able to fully commit myself to my studies. It removed some of the financial pressures for myself and my family, and now I have achieved a 2:1 in my degree allowing me to get onto a 1 year Teacher Training course. After a tough interview process, I have secured a placement in the local college for my training year. This wouldn’t have been possible without the bursary, as a good degree grade is needed to start the course. “
“It made a huge difference, I was able to concentrate on my degree, without financial worry. This also helped take some of the pressure off my parents.”
We received many powerful applications this year, but sadly, we cannot fund them all. If you have not succeeded this time, we encourage you to reapply in 2025. Join our newsletter to get notified when forms open.
We are proud that we are supporting many young people from our postal family, helping them reach their dreams. But much like the young people we support, we have big ambitions. We aim to support every child and young person in our postal community who faces barriers to achieving their dreams. Your help can make this happen. By donating, you are giving postal children the chance for growth and chances they might not otherwise have.
