Budding athletes, Isobelle and Fred, get a boost on the running track.

Isobelle and Fred excel at long/middle distance running, and the Postal Family Fund is helping them go international.

Isobelle, 15 years old, qualified for England at the International School, where she won Silver (1500m). Isobelle also ran an all-time British record for 5km in her age category, achieving 16.14 for a 5km distance. Her brother Fred, 13 years old, holds many records and is currently ranked number one in his age category.

After reading about the Postal Family Fund in Courier, Isobelle and Fred’s dad, Ross Jones, a Customer Operations Manager at Royal Mail, decided to apply for the Rising Stars bursary. Ross said, ‘The award has supported the financing of equipment required such as trainers, spikes, and clothing. The help from Postal Family Fund has allowed Isobelle and Fred to do the necessary training and compete more effectively.’

When asked whether Ross would recommend Postal Family Fund to colleagues, he said, ‘Certainly! Children and youths have their dreams and ambitions. And the Postal Family Fund helps to chase them.’

We are delighted to be supporting Isobelle and Fred. Best of luck!
